Charity Press Bias

On December 24, 2006, in General, by Neil Stevens

So, a stupid minority owner of the Bobcats attempts to break league rules by donating his shares, announces it like a jerk without checking first, and embarasses both his team and the league by making them block the transaction.

How does the AP report it? With words like “Grinch” applied to the Chairman of the Bobcats, because he had to do his job and honor contractual obligations. No mention of “idiot” applied to the minority owner. No, the AP sits squarely on one side of this matter.

It’s too bad this wasn’t Reuters, they of their “One man’s Grinch is another man’s Sally Who” policy.
