Important Note: The merging of the old, original Simply American database with the new is still in progress. Contributor posts are all up, but user comments are not likely to return. Further, all intra-site links from the-amazing.us are yet to be converted to new links here. Lastly, the old topic system, including topic images, will never be ported over because the way it changed over the history of the site is never going to be replicated anyway.

Leon H Wolf takes on opportunistic Congressmen who are attacking the President. Leon points out, thought, that most every failing they accuse him of, goes the same for them, or more.

I mix it up a bit in the comments, defending the President even more generally than that.

My father (well, technically, his corporation) this week was robbed of a large sum by some unknown criminals in Riga. They did it $500 at a time from ATMs at various banks in town.

Credit to Bank of America for saying they'll give us the money back immediately, but this is still a scary situation.

It's infurating a bit, too: this bank at one point deactivated my check card because I made a total of three transactions, one each with companies in Hong Kong, Japan, and Canada. And yet, they do nothing as a long series of $500 ATM transactions are made in Riga. Well, they're paying for it, so I guess the incentive is there for them to improve, and I don't have to worry.
