Important Note: The merging of the old, original Simply American database with the new is still in progress. Contributor posts are all up, but user comments are not likely to return. Further, all intra-site links from the-amazing.us are yet to be converted to new links here. Lastly, the old topic system, including topic images, will never be ported over because the way it changed over the history of the site is never going to be replicated anyway.

So what's going on now?

Mitt Romney and John McCain both want to be President. I'm warming up to Romney, for one. A ticket of Romney/Rice doesn't scare me a bit, though I still need to know more about Romney, and I don't actually want to see Rice as President.

Cuba's set up to win the World Baseball Classic. What a disappointment, and how sickening to imagine that evil Castro smiling over it.

The left is trying to play up a split on the Right for the jillionth time of the last 25 years. They're wrong for 2006, I suspect, but if McCain wins the primary they may be right for 2008, though it won't be the split they hope for (business Republicans vs the religious right), but one that I may be a part of (liberals + business Republicans vs conservatives + libertarians).

In other words: until something big happens in, say, Iran, nothing really new is going on right now, that I can see.
